This is one transfer that still stings
Barcelona’s capture of Malcom still appears to rankle with Roma and Monchi who made a point of taking a pop at the Brazilian on Thursday.
Monchi was speaking at a press conference to unveil new signing Steven N’Zonzi and was asked to compare the two players.
“Don’t you think a world champion is better than Malcom?” he said.
“I didn’t say I would have signed somebody with the same role. I said I wanted to sign somebody better, and to me, Steven is better than Malcom.”

Barcelona swooped for Malcom at the last minute after Bordeaux had already announced an agreement with Roma for the Brazilian.
Malcom’s agent has since said that they chose to snub Roma as revenge for another deal which fell through.
Malcom has already made an impression in his short time at Barcelona. He scored against Roma in pre-season and added another in Wednesday’s win over Boca Juniors.
