Even if true, Manchester United has to agree to the sale
The Italian site Calciomercato.com says Paul Pogba and FC Barcelona have come to a rough agreement on the terms he would accept were the Catalans to secure his transfer from Manchester United.
The report says the Frenchman must be bought before the transfer window closes in England on Thursday, to give enough time for the Red Devils to find a replacement. Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić has been rumored as a possible target.
If United are able to identify a replacement, they will give the green light for the operation to go ahead, the site says. The deal is rumored to cost around 110 million euro, although one can imagine the price rising even further.
Pogba has been the subject of interest after rumors arose that his agent met with Barcelona officials to offer his client’s services. His reportedly strained relationship with manager José Mourinho has also been cited as a reason for his possible exit.
Barcelona signed another midfielder, Arturo Vidal, at a cut-rate price from Bayern Munich, but Catalan sources do not rule out more reinforcements.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona officials deny an agreement, but they do recognize their interest in the World Cup winner.
