Lots for the two to discuss

Barcelona sporting director Deco is reportedly set to fly out to Brazil over the international break to check up on Vitor Roque.

The forward, who will join Barcelona nex year, has been sidelined with an ankle injury and expected to miss the next few months.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Deco wants to check on his injury, show the youngster some support in the recovery process and ensure the treatment is going well.

Deco also wants to discuss the future and reassure Vitor Roque that Barcelona still want him in January despite all their financial obstacles.

Barca are still hoping the Brazilian can arrive in the winter but the move will depend on several matters being resolved.

The Catalans are still waiting for a financial injection of 40 million euros from German investment outfit Libero that was due in the summer.

Vitor Roque’s arrival in January would obviously be a boost for Xavi’s side midway through the campaign, although it’s still not clear yet if it will actually be able to happen.

Fermin Lopez is ‘a different player’ whose stubborness will help him

The youngster impressed last season at Linares

Fermin Lopez’s emergence at Barcelona this season has come as no surprise to one of his former team-mates Hugo Diaz.

The veteran forward played alongside Lopez last season at Linares, during his loan spell, and says he knew straightaway he was a special talent.

“The first time I trained with Fermín López, I immediately saw that he was a different player because what he did was not normal,” he told RAC1.

“In the first training session he turned like he did a couple of times against Sevilla. I don’t know how he does it, but he turns with a lot of power.

“Our captain, Rodri, was not there due to a medical problem and called me to ask me about him. ‘How’s the kid?’, he asked. “He’s scary, I answered him.”

Diaz also outlined how Lopez’s mentality will also help him when it comes to making the breakthrough at Barcelona.

“He is very stubborn and this has helped him reach the Barcelona first team. You can get the physique through training and he took care of himself, but he was very shy when he arrived and here, in a dressing room full of veterans, he started to believe in himself,” he said.

“He was very loved in the locker room and we were all aware of his potential. He does everything very naturally and it is a pleasure to see him play.”

Lopez impressed against Mallorca and Sevilla and will be hoping for plenty more minutes in the first team, starting on Wednesday when Xavi’s team take on Porto in the Champions League.

Rumors: Barca ‘have already decided’ to sell Ansu Fati

The forward can go if a good offer arrives

Barcelona are reportedly planning on selling Ansu Fati next summer and are hoping the youngster can impress at Brighton on loan and attract admirers.

Fati moved to the Premier League side in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan, although the deal does not include a purchase option.

Yet Diario Sport reckon Barca have already decided to “get rid” of Ansu and will be happy to accept any suitable offers.

Indeed it’s also claimed Barca were willing to sell Fati last summer, but a move to Wolves broke down as the forward did not want to head to Molineux.

Fati was planning on staying for the season but ended up moving on after seeing the writing on the wall after the first few games of the new campaign.

Barcelona have apparently now decided to sell because they are well-stocked for forwards and will also strengthen next year with the arrival of Vitor Roque.

Joao Felix could end up staying at Barcelona too, with the report claiming Fati could be used as part of a deal that sees the Portugal international sign for the Catalans permanently.

The coach has lots of good memories

Barcelona coach Xavi will take charge of the team for the 100th time against Porto on Tuesday and has been looking back on his time as boss ahead of the match.

Xavi was asked to pick out some of his favorite memories, including his most special match. The boss went for the win over Espanyol last season that confirmed his team as champions.

“Last year’s derby against Espanyol, the day we won the League. We won the title, at the home of our local rivals and it was also one of our best games,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

Xavi also spoke about the best match he feels his team has played under his guidance and, perhaps unsurprisingly, went for a win over Real Madrid.

“The victory in the Super Cup against Madrid. It was our first title, against Madrid and the game that day perfectly reflects the idea we want,” he added.

The Barca boss also admitted last season’s defeat to Bayern in the Champions League was his toughest loss and highlighted Marcus Rashford, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior as the players who had caused his team the most problems.

Alarcon set to return from injury after long spell out injured

The teenager’s been passed fit

Barcelona forward Angel Alarcon has been cleared to return to action after a long spell out injured.

The youngster sustained a muscle injury back in May and has been sidelined ever since. However, he’s been given the green light to play today and could feature in Barca Atletic’s clash against Celta Fortuna.

Alarcon’s return will be a huge boost both to the player and the club. The 19-year-old trained regularly with the first team last season and made his debut in the Copa del Rey clash against Ceuta in January.

Barcelona then handed Alarcon a new contract that runs until 2025, and contains a buyout clause set at 400 milllion euros, and he went on to make his La Liga debut against Cadiz.

Alarcon will now be aiming to get back on track after a frustrating few months on the sidelines and could even get some minutes later today.

The midfielder is wanted at Camp Nou

Barcelona have reportedly been in touch with Corinthians to discuss a move for 18-year-old Brazilian whizzkid Gabriel Moscardo.

A move for Moscardo has been rumored for a little while now, but it seems Barca are stepping up their interest and hoping to beat Chelsea to his signing.

Diario Sport are reporting that Deco “has a crush” on Moscardo and has been talking to Corinthians to make the club’s interest official.

Barca want to sign Moscardo at the end of the season and see him as a long-term option at pivot following Sergio Busquets’s departure last summer.

Chelsea have already seen a couple of offers rejected, with the Brazilian side reportedly wanting around 30 million euros.

Sport claim Deco is committed to signing Moscardo, like he was with Vitor Roque, and thinks he’s exactly the right fit for the team.

A summer exit for the youngster is starting to look inevitable, as Europe’s top clubs circle, but Barca still have work to do to win the race for his signature.
