Former Barcelona player Andres Iniesta talked about his time at Barcelona this week. Specifically, he talked about how he would have liked to have won more Champions League titles while at the club.

“I would have liked to win more Champions Leagues, but I think that people should feel proud of what they have achieved, because that’s what made them happy,”

“It is true that in the last few years at Barcelona. we had squads that could have taken one more step in the Champions League.”

Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto came out and defended the Barcelona academy this week.

Specifically, Sergi talked about one of the club’s most talented youngsters, Riqui Puig, and how important the 19-year-old is to the club.

“Maybe he’s the one talked about the most [in the academy], yes. When he plays, you see different things, little details.

”Maybe the example for him to follow is [Carles] Aleña, a player that’s now in the first team.

“It’s important that these type of players come up and if they can stay with us, even better. It’s important that there are as many players as possible from the academy.”

The president plans to offer the GOAT another contract

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has been talking about his plans to sit down with Lionel Messi and offer the captain another contract extension at the Camp Nou.

The Barca captain has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down and is enjoying another prolific season, with the club still in contention on three fronts.

Messi’s current deal runs until 2021 when he’ll be 34, and Bartomeu also says the club are already planning for life after the GOAT.

“So we are preparing our club for the future, for the time post-Leo. Because we would like to still be the top club at that time. So, it’s a way of working, of investing, also of taking risks.

”We invest in young players, on homegrown players from La Masia, but also on bringing players from other clubs, just to keep this level of excellence.

”Sometimes I explain to members of the club and the board, what we are doing is bringing right now very young players to the club. Young players that we think are very talented: [Clement] Lenglet, Ousmane Dembele, Arthur Melo, Frenkie de Jong, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is still very young.

The midfielder says the Red Devils deserve respect

Ivan Rakitic has been talking about Manchester United ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final clash with the Red Devils.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side booked their place in the last eight by knocking out PSG on away goals, despite losing the first leg 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Rakitic says their performance against the French champions deserves respect from Barcelona.
