The PSG striker has one game left to play
Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe says he is still hoping to pip Barcelona captain Lionel Messi to the European Golden Shoe.
The 20-year-old has 32 goals for the season, while Messi finished on 36 after bagging a brace against Eibar on Sunday in his final La Liga match of the season.
However, Mbappe still has one game left to play, against Reims on Friday, and is hoping he can finish as the continent’s top scorer.
“I cut my nap this afternoon to watch Messi score two and then I went back to bed. I will give it everything.
“There are 90 minutes left and I have nothing to lose. If I do not win it, everyone will say: ‘It’s normal, it’s Messi.’ If I can do it, it will be with pleasure.”

Mbappe picked up a host of awards on Sunday night including the Ligue 1 Player of the Season gong.
The youngster also dropped a bit of a bombshell at the ceremony, hinting at a move away from the French champions as he wants more responsibility either at PSG or “elsewhere.”
