The defender wants the coach to stay
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique reckons Ernesto Valverde is doing a “magnificent” job at the club and says the team want him to remain in the job.
The Barca boss has admitted he does not know if he will be at the club next season, but Pique’s made it clear what the dressing room thinks.
“It’s a decision that he will make and he will respect because he is the coach,” he said.
”We would be delighted if he decided to continue and he is doing a magnificent job.
”He brings calmness and he is producing results and showing that his way works.”

Valverde oversaw a 2-1 win over Getafe on Sunday in Barcelona’s first fixture of 2019. The win moves the champions five points clear at the top of the table.
Next up is a trip to Levante in the Copa del Rey, followed by a visit from Eibar in La Liga on Sunday.
