Sevilla tell Barcelona they must pay Lenglet’s release clause

Pay up or move on is the message

Sevilla sporting director Joaquin Caparros has told Barcelona they must pay Clement Lenglet’s release clause if they want to bring him to the Camp Nou.

A move for the defender appears to be inching closer although Sevilla have made it quite clear they have no intention of negotiating a deal.

“There is something to make clear, something we’ve already said,” he said.

”Sevilla aren’t transferring Lenglet. Sevilla made an offer to Lenglet because we wanted him to stay.

”Barcelona wanted to negotiate for him, but Sevilla aren’t transferring him.

”It’s another thing for the money of a release clause to be deposited and for any footballer to be able to leave.”

Lenglet’s release clause is reported to be €35 million, and if Barcelona really want him it looks as though they’ll have to pay the full asking price.
