Report: Three Barcelona players set to leave as Premier League, Serie A teams submit offers

As Barcelona prepares for somewhat of a squad overhaul next season, three bench warmers are set to leave the club.

According to reports in Catalonia, the Catalan giants will sell center-back Thomas Vermaelen, full-back Adriano Correia and forward Sandro Ramírez this summer. The trio is not part of Luis Enrique's plans for the upcoming season, and all three have expressed the desire of playing elsewhere to get more minutes.

Vermaelen arrived in 2014 from Arsenal and missed his entire first campaign due to a long 10-month process recovering from a groin injury that needed surgery. He made his debut in the last match of the La Liga season, and promised to play more in his second campaign.

Thomas then made an impressive impact in the first few months of the new season, but had three different injuries throughout the year and once again spent more team with the doctors than his teammates. Barça is prepared to sell, and Premier League teams like Everton and Crystal Palace have already approached the club.

Sandro Ramírez came into the scene when he scored the game-winner against Villarreal in the second match of the La Liga season in 2014, and his next few performances looked encouraging. As time went on, however, he fell down the pecking order and played very little minutes in the Treble season. When Pedro Rodríguez left, there was one less backup on the bench and Sandro had a chance to prove himself. He had a good Copa del Rey game against third-tier Villanovense, scoring a hat-trick at Camp Nou, but did nothing in his other opportunities.

During El Clásico week, Sandro injured himself in training by kicking the ground and tearing his hamstring, which ended his season. He will leave this summer, and Tottenham Hotspur might relive their interest from last season. If not, several other English teams are in the race for the 20-year-old, according to Diario Sport.

Finally, Adriano Correia, who was set to leave for free this summer but picked up an option in his contract for an additional year. The Brazilian full-back once was a key member of Pep Guardiola's squad, but his decline combined with Jordi Alba's rise eventually made Adriano a bench warmer. He had very little minutes in the Luis Enrique Era, and is moving away from Catalonia this summer. Italian giants Roma were heavily linked with Adriano in the past, but it seems like Roma's local rivals, Lazio, are the most likely to sign the player for a cheap transfer fee.

All told, Barça hope to earn a combined €25 million in fees for the trio, which they'll use to bring in new players to the squad next summer. They might get less, but they are okay with less if the bench warmers go away.
