Report: Barcelona, Villarreal agree buy-back transfer for Denis Suárez

Barcelona's first signing for next season is a done deal.

According to multiple reports in Spain, the latest coming from Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants have reached an agreement with Villarreal over the transfer of Spanish midfielder Denis Suárez. Barça will exercise a €3,25 million buy-back option on the young Spaniard, who will join the Blaugrana on a five-year contract.

Suárez began his career at the Celta Vigo academy, and later joined Manchester City's youth system. Back in 2013, Barça bought Denis and assigned him to Barça B, where he developed into a very good player. When the Catalans signed Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla in 2014, they included Suárez as part of the deal, and the midfielder joined the Rojiblancos on a two-year loan.

After his first season with the Sevillistas, Denis was sold to Villarreal and signed a four-year deal with the Yellow Submarine. Barça was smart and kept a cheap buy-back clause on the youngster's contract, and they had a right to exercise it after one season. Suárez had a sensational campaign under coach Marcelino García Toral, and the Blaugrana made the decision of buying him back in the first opportunity.

Luis Enrique is excited about the prospect of working with the 22-year-old who can play anywhere in midfield, but shined at Villarreal as a wide player, which could make him a reliable backup to the 'MSN' trio next season.

The transfer isn't official yet since Barça cannot announce any new signings until the next transfer window due to financial reasons, but this is a done deal. Denis Suárez is back to Barça, and will be in the first team this time. Welcome, kid.
