It was a hard challenge by Colombia's Zuñiga that probably took Barcelona and Brazil superstar Neymar out of competition
Brazil won the match against Colombia and will play in the World Cup semi-final against Germany. But it's not all good news for the Seleção.
Their biggest star, FC Barcelona's Neymar, is likely out of the game, next Tuesday. Brazil's coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, said in the post-match press conference that Neymar is in a lot of pain and he doesn't think the Barça star will be ready.
"I don't think he'll be able to play. He is in a lot of pain and the next game is only a few days away. I think he's out, according to what the doctor said and the ammount of pain he's in."
Neymar was taken to the hospital immediately after the play that knocked him out of the game. In the 86th minute, he received a hard knee to the spine, delivered by Colombia's full-back, Zuñiga. He remained down, not moving and clearly in a lot of pain. Neymar was crying as he was put in the stretcher and was taken out of the field by Brazil's doctors.
There is not a definitive diagnose on his injury yet.
Scolari doesn't think Zuñiga's challenge was intentional. "It happens, things of football. Nothing more than that".
We'll continue to update this story as it develops.
