But the Barcelona rumors keep on coming

Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has offered his thoughts on Robert Lewandowski and is confident the striker is staying at the Allianz Arena.

Lewandowski is yet to agree a contract extension with Bayern and there have been plenty of rumors that Barca would like to bring him to the Camp Nou this summer.

The Poland international is contracted to Bayern until 2023, and Hoeness says that means will not be depart at the end of the season.

“I assume one hundred percent that Robert Lewandowski will play for Bayern next season,” he told the B/R Portal. “He has a contract, it’s that simple.”

The rumor mill isn’t too sure and continues to think there’s a chance that Lewandowski could go. Fabrizio Romano reckons the striker is Barca’s “priority” and that the club are willing to offer a three-year deal.

Sporting director Mateu Alemany was asked about Lewandowski before Barca’s win over Real Mallorca and played down some of the recent rumors about a meeting with the Bayern man’s agent.

“There was no meeting with Lewandowski’s agent. Also, I don’t like to speak about the negotiations process - it’s something private,” he said. “We don’t like to discuss of players who are under contract with other clubs.”

Expect this saga to rumble on for a little while yet.
