The duo have both been sidelined
Barcelona have announced that Sergino Dest and Ousmane Dembele are both sidelined after picking up injuries.
The news is yet another blow for the Catalan giants who have been plagued by injuries to key players throughout the early weeks of the season.
Dembele is out once again despite only just making his return from knee surgery. The Frenchman played 25 minutes against Dynamo Kiev but now has a hamstring problem.
Dest did not feature in Ukraine and interim coach Sergi Barjuan admitted after the match the USMNT star dropped out late because of a knock.
Here’s the club’s official statement.
“The first team player Sergiño Dest has lower back pain. He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.
“For his part, the first team player Ousmane Dembélé has a strain in the semimembranosus muscle of his left hamstring. He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.”

It’s perhaps also worth noting that Barjuan also admitted after the win over Kiev that he’d put Dembele on earlier than planned.
“We put him on earlier than we’d told him he would after so long out. But he makes such a difference – he plays at a different tempo, he’s very direct, he stretches things.”

There’s no detail from Barcelona regarding how long both player be out for, although after the trip to Celta Barca don’t play again until November 20 due to the international break.
