La Liga president Javier Tebas reckons it’s probably not a good idea for Real Madrid to give Barcelona a guard of honour when the two teams meet at Camp Nou because it would be humiliating for Los Blancos.
Barcelona could have the title all wrapped up by the time Real Madrid come calling on May 6th and Zinedine Zidane has already said his team won’t perform a pasillo.
Tebas says he’s a fan of the tradition, well except when it comes to Real Madrid having to do it to Barcelona.
“I would have liked for the tradition to have been maintained,” he said.
“But if it’s to humiliate a rival, I don’t like it. I prefer it to be left to one side for some time until we return to having common sense,
”It’s a decision by the clubs. But what I sense is that it’s not a homage to the champions but rather, especially with Barca and Madrid, a humiliation.”

There seems little chance of it actually happening anyway, although hopefully Barcelona will have the title wrapped up by then. They need seven points from their last six games starting tonight against Celta Vigo.
